Easier to use and smaller footprint than clamshell one.
Easier to use than the clamshell charger but doesn't have a battery like the clamshell one. This will be my desk charger and the clamshell one will be for travelling since it can be used unplugged due to the battery. I actually prefer using this one as my primary charger since it is so easy to chuck the ring on it (I am getting older and streamlining everything is becoming important to me). It also takes up less space if that is a concern.

Better than the case that has no size flexibility…
Way better than what came with the ring. Annoying I had to buy it separately!

Missing parts - beware
Make sure all parts are included. I didn't check and realized today the part to actually put the ring on and charge was missing.....too late to return. Only the block and cable was included, but not the post for the ring.
