Skin reaction
Its a very good soap but I always end up with little bumps and spots all over my body after I use it, smells amazing but my sensitive skin does not like this soap.It is fine with the exfoliating bar though, so I am just going too stick with the other.both have an amazing smell and the bar lasts long enough, you are suppose too turn the shower off while you lather your body then rinse, lasts long enough if you use this method.

Different, seems to soothe eczema
Has a clean scent but the smell is odd and takes getting used to...it reminds me of very old soap my gran used to buy (carbolic maybe? Sort of sharp but with a hint of woodsy earthiness). The scent doesn’t last long anyway. It lathers like a regular soap but unlike a regular soap, just with a bit of grey instead (it’s completely stained my loofah face scrubber), it has a soothing sort of sensation and doesn’t feel drying (I can’t use it on my face though, my face is very sensitive to the ingredients that make soap solid so I steer clear).I will say, unlike other soaps I’ve tried, this doesn’t leave a weird slimy waxy residue on my skin. It hasn’t dried me out and I have super sensitive skin.It is very odd watching water turning greyish. Leaves an absolute mess on the bath, after a bath, the bath does look dirty unless you immediately rinse it, and doesn’t look nice in a soap dish as it looks dirty and leaves a bit of residue (looked sludgy, a guest was appalled lol). It’s a good chunk of soap, quite big, but it is rather expensive - it’s on par with handmade soaps from big brand places.Edit:I’ve been letting my father try this, he has chronic eczema and horrendous itching and has done for years. His body is about 70% covered in sores and dry skin and struggles to sleep from itchiness and the sores the scratching causes. He’s told me after using it, he has no nighttime itching. This is highly unusual. He has tried it a few times now in a bath and says every time he’s used it, his itching has never bothered him at night. It seems to really help his quality of sleep. His skin is even looking less dry and inflamed.I used it on my neck last night (which is prone to sweat rashes) and I noticed my neck didn’t feel as irritated last night as it had the previous three nights so perhaps it does have a sort of healing effect? Hard to say but my father is definitely impressed and this is a man who uses masses of ointments and unguents to no avail.Think the price is justified (for us anyway) if if the effects remain consistent (everyone is different, I wasn’t impressed at first either but if it helps soothe our skin, I’d definitely get it again). It’s been used a fair few times too and doesn’t seem to have shrunk yet either lol.I’ll add I’ve used Baxter’s daily face wash (blue bottle) and that also is very good (especially on sensitive skin).

Makes my man smell great - extra clean beard too :-)
Yes it's a bit pricey for a bar of soap but it is very lovely. Gives my man a great smelling beard and makes him smell good all over... NIce and gentle on the skin too - bringing kaolin, bentonite and charcoal to purify and cleanse deeply. Definitely a repeat purchase !!

Hilarious Cost - But...It Is Huge
Now, the chances of me pulling out north of ten quid for a bar of soap is zero. Really. So I was absolutely intrigued to get this because, frankly how can one bar of soap be worth that much?Well....it is good. But the reason why the value isn't quite as grim as it seems is because this is one epic sized bar of soap. In fact if you have petite mitts then you might struggle to actually hold this brick sized bar of soap. Almost.Actually to be more accurate I reckon that this is about twice the size of a normal bar of soap so you can half the price per pound I guess. Now, there is another plus point in that it seems to last quite well. I assume that this is because its made with clay and charcoal which presumably does not shrink quite as quick as a normal bar.And if you compare this to liquid soap its positively great value lasting five times as long.In use despite the fact this soap is black as coal and made of clay and charcoal the suds are in fact normal. And to use this is pretty good. A small amount of use and you are properly clean and deodorised. So, bottom line is that this is despite the price actually fair value and in use is defo better than the bog basic stuff us blokes normally buy

Smoky man soap
It’s a nifty marketing move by Baxter Of California here, rebranding soap as a premium male grooming product by upping the utilitarian clay aspect, making it black, giving it a smoky aroma and suddenly making it cool- but it does work.Using it as a replacement for shower gel, it makes an interesting change. The musky scent is quite pleasant- reminiscent of what your clothes smell like if you’ve been sat around a campfire for a while- though it washes off a bit too readily and you’ll wish it had lingered for longer. It behaves and lathers exactly like regular soap, so I’m not convinced of its “deep cleansing” credentials, but its “ordinary cleansing” credentials are hard to dispute. The black colour pours off into the shower and feels, oddly, like it’s making something of a show of washing the dirt away. It’s a very chunky lump of soap, bigger than our soap dish was prepared for, and for the current asking of sixteen quid it does at first glance seem extortionate (you could get this much Pears or camphor soap in a supermarket for two quid), but it’s very rich and it’s going to last a lot of washes, far more than a bottle of shower gel for sure. I do wish the scent was a bit stickier as the smoky pleasure is a bit short-lived, but for a premium take on soaping yourself down in the shower, it doesn’t get much posher.

Woody earthy scent
I like citrus make smells and hence wanted to try this rather masculine smell( quite woody earthy) on a soap- it's stronger than a day soap that I would require but it's a great soap for the guys and I love the smell and they report it's also is good for a quick save due to low smooth lather.

Luxury charcoal soap
First impressions of this soap were excellent - it looks like a luxury product, perfectly cut and utterly stylish. It is a lovely product - great lather and soothing on skin.
