This map is really lovely and high quality. It adheres well and the plasticized fabric doesn't have the cheap sheen of a plastic laminate. Aside from a few swear words when the sticky side stuck together, it was relatively easy to put up. Something to note for hanging: If you draw a level pencil line, that will show through once on the fall and the backing material is pulled off. Recommend you make a few marks at the level point, and have 1-2 people on the bottom keep the corners from rolling back in. Level the top (it pulls off easily to reposition), and then start smoothing down. I loved how it wasn't prone to bubbles....it was much easier to apply them my iPad screen cover!

Academia Maps - World Map Wall Mural - Antique Ocean Political Map - Premium Self-Adhesive Fabric *** DO NOT PURCHASE ***Having read all the reviews and followed the best instructions for how to apply to the wall all appeared good until the following morning when the map is on the floor and stuck together in a heap. Even with careful attempts to separate the map it was impossible and ended up being thrown away. The glue is not adequate for the size and weight of this map. Wall had been well prepared and was a clean dry surface that had been freshly painted to provide the reliable surface upon which the map could be applied.

Looks nice, but arrived damaged. It came in a strong cardboard tube, that was undamaged, but the map inside was curled at the standing end, probably from the map's own weight inside the tube. Gift for someone, so that was a bit of a downer. We're trying to straighten it out before affixing to the wall or sending it back. Here's hoping. Will update if it works.

Beautiful map but we almost ruined it trying to mount because it's somewhat like working with plastic wrap in the kitchen. Don't take the entire backing off all at once! Easiest way to mount is to peel off the backing from the entire top edge first, get this stuck on wall, then gradually peel the backing from top down as you smooth with your hands. The material is great and very forgiving. We stretched it quite a bid in trying to get it unstuck from itself but it ended up looking fine once we got it up. It will take 2 people.

Looks great on my sons grey wall. The hardest part was getting it on the wall with damaging it but once it is up it looks great.

My students and I LOVE this map! I put it up on the blackboard at the side of the room where we never use it and we use little magnetic pins to mark all the places that we've traveled and do other fun class activities! I want to get a few more actually!

I ordered a similar map a long time ago and it stayed in place. I ordered this map to replace the older one and it fell off the wall within 10 minutes. I was able to unstick it from itself, but after that it was stretched out and wouldn't adhere to the wall.

The map is great. Very detailed and very clear. Warning: it came with no instructions. None. We peeled off the back of the 53 inch map and it fell back on itself and was a sticky mess. It took two of us ten minutes to pull it apart. We got it up and it looks good, but it needs instructions and warnings. I wouldn't do it again.
