I am just a consumer-no ulterior motive here. I just got this yesterday. I had absolutely no confidence it would work. Zero. My two tiny dogs bark and bark. I am disabled. I cannot follow them outside. They bark at dogs walking in front of my house. They like to bark at opossums on my back fence at midnight!!! I have used the button/sound exactly 3 times. The last one at midnight. It is now the afternoon the next day. No barking at all. None. Zip. I am in awe of this device.Seriously, just now they both were in my backyard and started to bark…I hit the button…they stopped and came inside!!! Miracle I tell you.

My 9-week-old Puppy Stopped Her Incessant Barking on Day One!
This is a game-changer! My 9-week-old Pomeranian would not respond to positive reinforcement when it came to her whining/attention barking. After playtime and cuddles, I'd put her back in her playpen and the loud barking and whining would commence. I tried saying "Quiet" and rewarding her with treats when she obeyed, but it was short-lived. This little gadget came a day early and I was more than excited –– and skeptical. To test it out, I cuddled her for a bit and then put her back in her playpen. After I walked away she started to bark and whine. I said, "Quiet" and she continued. I quickly pressed this device and said "Quiet" again. Her ears perked up and she got as silent as a mouse. I said, "Good girl!" and a couple of minutes later cuddled with her again. I put her back in her playpen and not a peep! This was the first use of the device and it was a success. She normally is a loud and incessant barker. She barely whimpered.Ten minutes later I was playing with her sister and she wanted attention so she barked once (a HUGE improvement) and I said "Quiet." She barked lightly and I pressed the device and said "Quiet." Not a peep!Later, I picked her up again and cuddled a bit, then put her back in her playpen. Not a peep! Complete silence (whereas before she'd wine and bark loudly for at least a minute). If your dog does not respond to positive reinforcement I definitely recommend this device. Use short bursts, not lengthy ones ... as a quick click is all that was needed for my pup. The goal is to get her to respond to your voice and use the device less.NOTE: This worked on one pup. My other one, (same age/litter) doesn't seem to respond as well to it. I will see if she improves. But for the first one, the major attention/whining barker, this is a game-changer.UPDATE: Day 2 and no more whining/attention-seeking barking fits from the main little one. She barked a quick "Woof" (I guess she forgot) that night I got this, but quickly caught herself. My second Pom is taking longer to catch on. I have to use it more often. I press it as she is barking, then tell her "Quiet." She simmers down and whimpers more instead. Hopefully, this will work with her too. However, I am now pleasantly sleeping through the night. Finally waking up feeling rested after a long and uninterrupted sleep! Forget those stupid YouTube videos that take weeks to train a dog not to attention bark and whine -- so useless. I am so glad I found this device! Definitely worth every penny and my sanity.UPDATE: So, this works amazing for one dog and not so well for the other (same age/same litter). The first dog is virtually silent re: Aggressive/Whining Barking. The second starts her bark fest each morning as soon as she hears my feet hit the floor. I have to push this a number of times while she barking for her to settle into a quiet whine. So I am going to order an Ultrasonic Bark device for her. She eventually settles but it takes way too long, and too many alerts.NOTE: I purchased the Ultrasonic Bark device (which humans can't hear) and my 2nd pup finally shut her mouth! I really like this device, but prefer something silent for traveling and when the pups are out with me running errands. I can use the silent device in more situations, instead of just at home (with this device because it's loud). The fact that we can hear this device is the only con. Otherwise, it works great. However, the discomfort associated with the Ultrasonic barking device is more motivation for some dogs who ignore commands.

If I could give this more stars I would
I have a toy poodle who is sweet as a button until she's not. She can go from 0 to 60 in aggression with the other toy poodles in the house. She is also aggressive towards people when she thinks they are getting too close to her favorite human. And she has sleep aggression where she wakes from a sound sleep and attacks the first dog she sees. For her safety and the safety of the other dogs in the home, and our own sanity it needed to stop. I wanted something that would startle her and make her immediately stop without touching her or hurting her. I knew I didn't want a shock collar, or a collar that blew air in her face. I also didn't want an ultrasonic light flashing device. I wanted something that buzzed and was loud and would hopefully interrupt her immediate thoughts and make her think about the noise instead. I had just about given up when I found this Doggie Don't Device. It was exactly what I was looking for and it worked even better than I could have imagined it would. I thought it would take a lot of time to break her of this aggressive behavior. It did not. The first time I used it scared the beejeepers out of her. It didn't take long to have to use it a second time. Same reaction, except this time something changed in her demeanor. She became very fearful of the device itself. Not me, just the device. I now had a very powerful deterrent. All I had to do is show it to her and say HUSH. It made her stop everything and come running to me for reassurance. A week or so went by and I had to use it again. And I think one more time a few weeks after that. All I have to do now is say HUSH and it's immediately over. I am more than satisfied with the product and we have a friendly household again.

This version 4 stars, battery version 5
This device has been invaluable during our recent 5th dog addition. Our dog trainer recommended it. One quick push of the button is more than enough to stop everything from fights to howl fests when the door bell rings. We call it a zapper, but it doesn’t zap anything. It’s all about the noise, which is basically a Tesla coil. We had bought a different device that didn’t help at all. Air horns can help, but nothing has been as effective as this one. We also bought a battery version which is a much better option than this charging one.

Good item to try for training
This has really helped. It gets their attention & the battery life has been great; however, my doggie would need shock treatments to stop chasing squirrels.

It Works!
This is my second unit because I lost the original one (which I’ve been using for a couple of years). My yorkie wouldn’t listen to commands so I gave this a try. It really works! She’s so much better at listening and I rarely have to use it.The only negative is that I didn’t realize this unit isn’t rechargeable (my original one was).
