Good quality, well made, a little noisy on high speed but medium speed is tolerable - works as advertised.
Bought this to boost air flow at the furthest corner of our home (master bedroom) from furnace/AC - weak output there kept the room at about 66-67 in winter when rest of house was at 70-71; after installing it boosted the warm air so we now have a consistent 69 all day and night long. We got this just before a polar vortex and below 0 temps arrived, so just in time to give it the ultimate test -which I feel it passed with flying colors. High speed is a bit noisy but medium speed is white noise; if we could accept the noise of high speed my guess is we'd have 70 degree temps in that room but high speed is a bit annoying at night even though it's in a walk-in closet, we leave the door open and it definitely boosts the temps. The thermostat is a bit tricky - it does tend to run on for maybe 10 mins after the furnace shuts off but there is still warm air in the duct - you can feel it pulling warm air for several minutes before it turns to room temp, then it shuts off - had to set control all the way to the right - anything less and it ran on and on and on - but it does work, just the control might as well be ON and OFF vs VARIABLE RANGE -I like it and if it last a few years, I'll be very satisfied - doubt we'll need it in the summer months since that is the cold side of the house, so it should only run for about 5-6 months a year, extending it's life by a factor of 2!

works well enough
I have had this item for 2 winters and one summer. I place it in my bedroom, which is the farthest room from the blower (3 levels plus about 80 feet of distance). I have noticed a considerable difference in comfort level. It warms the room 3-4 degrees in the winter and cools the same in the summer.I give it three stars for a number of reasons. It would be nice if they did have vent louvers that were adjustable ; it is a bit noisy, but OK ; the big one is that you either always have it on or not. The adjustment just does not work well.

AirFlow Breeze works incredibly well!
Updated 6/5/2018:We have now been using this product for 6 cooling seasons. It still works great! Now have 3 laptops instead of 3 desktops, 6 LED display monitors and have changed some of the light bulbs to LED instead of fluorescent, however is still too warm in this room during cooling season if we don't use this Air Flow Breeze booster fan.My original review:After I read some of the reviews for the AirFlow Breeze, I had my doubts. However, given the free shipping and Amazon's excellent return policy, which I have used on occasion, I decided to give it a try.Our 2nd floor bedroom was very warm in the summer time when outside temperatures require the use of A/C. The floor vent (HVAC outlet) in this bedroom is approx. 40 feet horizontally and 18 feet vertically from the basement floor on which the HVAC blower is located. It is 10 feet X 15 feet with an 8 foot ceiling. We use this room as an office and have 3 computers and a laser printer in it. It also has 220 watts total of fluorescent lights. As result, the room can get very warm on its own.The room was very warm and very uncomfortable during the summer, prior to installation of the AirFlow Breeze. With the installation of the AirFlow Breeze, we can get the room to be cool, even chilly if we choose to do so.Some suggestions:1. Close HVAC outlet vents in unused rooms.2. Close the door(s) to these unused rooms, if feasible.3. Leave the door open to the room that you want to cool with the AirFlow Breeze. (This is to allow the AirFlow Breeze to blow in cool air and to let the warm air escape through the open door. This is very important.)4. Try various settings of the fan speed on the AirFlow Breeze. Maximum cooling for our situation occurred on the medium fan setting, not the high setting.5. Initially, you may want to set your HVAC blower to run continuously and set the thermostat on the AirFlow Breeze to have it run continuously. This cooled the room within a few hours for us. Afterward, is best to set the thermostat on the AirFlow Breeze to allow your HVAC system to turn the blower on/off to correspond to cooling and idle cycles.

Noisy operation, not enough air flow increase
I work as an energy efficiency consultant and encounter problems with unequal heat distribution in homes all the time. I had hoped that this unit would allow certain rooms to have improved heating and cooling without having to retrofit a full HVAC zoning system. The unit consists of two fans controlled by a thermostat to run either when it senses hot or cool air in the duct. The fans appear to be the type that are used to ventilate a computer, and are very noisy in operation, emitting a high-pitched whine. The unit also seems to produce virtually no noticeable improvement in air flow over what comes out of the duct normally. Not recommended.
